Abstract:
Being economic, natural and social space, the rural area must be granted long-term guarantee and development. For that we must continue implementing rural development measures. Their main principle is the creation of some lasting basis that would create jobs for rural population. It is obvious that in order to diversify economic and social activities we must support particular initiatives and the initiatives of the community; these initiatives would assure new investments, technical assistance, services in business, adequate infrastructure, education and sustainable development of the population. In the rural communities of our republic there are villages that face poverty expressed by reduced goods and services consumption. Rural economy based mainly on agriculture and agricultural and non-agricultural products processing is little efficient; it registers a lasting decline which results in an emphasized degree of underdevelopment and a significant gap between the urban area and European rural area. For the Republic of Moldova rural development is a priority that aims at implementing an integrated policy that would allow the recovery of all the existing potential in the rural area: cattle breeding, agriculture, agricultural products processing, crafts, rural tourism, agro-tourism, customs, etc.
