Abstract:
In 2003 Budapest Open Access Initiative Project was launched – an alternative of typed magazines and their electronic versions. Open Access is a way of free scientific communication, which has a special ideology based on two pillars: the cooperation of scholars who are ready to present their own works in a free of charge access and a free access to online scientific publications with the right of reading, loading, copying, citing and stocking. The latter actions can be performed without any financial or legislative impediments. The advocates of free access to information are divided into two groups: Green Road and Golden Road. The former consider that the existing information network allows the publication stocking, their organisation in thematic or institutional electronic archives with free access. The latter support the publication of new models of scientific publication: magazines and conference material.
