Abstract:
Contemporary society considers the forests as part of the national treasure and cultural heritage. Their economic, social and environmental functions are of major importance for sustainable development of society and improvement of life quality, particularly in the rural and industrial areas. To a large extent, these functions are unique, both at the local and global levels. Social and economic importance of the forestry economy in general and forestry sector in particular, appears more clearly in the context of addressing and understanding the content and functions accomplished by forests.
