Abstract:
A lot of official statistics and unofficial appraisals demonstrate that more and more sectors of national economy are affected by crisis. First remittances embarked on o sudden decrease, then exports and imports, investments, after that followed textile industry, constructions, services sector, including tourism. The tourism, as a part of the services, has seen some changes, not so significant compared to other subbranches. These changes are related to the high cost of fuel, expenses related to the current economic downturn and of course to the political crisis. Following this line of thought, a study with reference to Moldova's attractiveness and competitiveness of national tourism estimation, would be quite necessary and appropriate. Rather would be an attempt to measure factors that could lead to an attractive development of the „tourism industry” in the country, avoiding the consequences of economic crisis. Assessing the competitiveness in tourism and trips is not a profitability rating of these areas. Each country has its attractive sides, unique sites, which can attract millions of tourists, therefore would be the correct rating of an appropriate image for proper positioning of the country in regional and international context.
